Find the calories and nutritional information for all types of red wine.
I have to confess I’m a lover of red wine (probably something to do with my part Italian heritage) and after a hard days work there’s nothing I like more than a glass of vino.
Guesstimation Hurts Your Diet Progress!
Like many others, I used to try to wing my diet and guesstimate how many calories I was eating each day.
Guess what? I stayed the same weight and even gained weight rather than getting lean for summer like I wanted.
The solution for me was to start to track my diet properly so there was no guesswork. Part of this was including the calories in alcohol into my daily targets which meant I was still in a calorie deficit and therefore able to keep losing fat while enjoying alcohol!
Now you can do the same by using this red wine calories guide to find the nutritional info of your favourite red wine and other drinks using my Calories in Alcohol Guide!

Low Calorie/Low Carb Red Wine!
Clearly a 175ml (5.9oz) glass will contain less calories and carbs than a large glass or a bottle, but when comparing wine-for-wine with an equal serving size there are some lower calorie/carb options.
With that said, we’re talking a very slight difference in calories, for example the lowest red wine calories compared to the highest is only 23 calories difference:
Lowest Calorie Red Wine: Carignane – 133 calories
Highest Calorie Red Wine: Zinfandel – 156 calories
It’s a similar story when it comes to carbs in that a 175ml glass of red has 4-6 grams of carbs which again is negligible.
Bottom line here is that it doesn’t matter which red wine you choose, just how much you drink. After all, a glass or two isn’t going to do too much damage but 5 175ml glasses could clock up 745 calories!
This demonstrates how easily it can be to wipe out your calorie defecit and put the brakes on fat loss!
