The calories in alcohol are a part of my diet and they’ve been so for a few years without interfering with fat loss or muscle gain.
Whilst getting in shape is about health, life is about balance and gone are the days where people dieting for a better body need to forsake alcohol.
Whether you’re a big drinker or not, sometimes it’s nice to have a cold beer or even a wild night out where you don’t even remember your name the next morning!
No longer must you be the social hermit who avoids social situations and then looks back on their life years later with regret.
You can drink alcohol and get the body you want if you know how! This guide shows you how…
Step #1 – Find The Calories in Alcohol
Whatever it is you think you’ll be drinking, do your homework in advance and find out how many calories are in each glass:
- Calories in white wine
- Red wine calories
- Calories in vodka
- Beer calories
Step #2 – Add Them To That Days Diet Plan
This step is key, if you’re only supposed to be consuming a certain number of calories its important you don’t go way over.
With that said, if you’re strict the rest of the week you can get away with a lot, if you struggle to stick to your diet daily then err on the side of caution.
If you’re allowed 2400 calories and you’ve already eaten 2000 then the 200 calories in each pint of beer means you can only drink two pints. As you know the calories in each type of alcohol you can switch your drink to low carb alcohol instead and still drink without going over your calorie target.
Step #3 – Tips For Reducing Calories in Alcohol
There are a number of tips I’ve picked up along the years which allow me to get hammered while keeping calories and more importantly sugar low.
Here’s the best of them:
- Low Carb Alcohol is Your Friend! – If I’m on a low carb day or I just don’t want to consume all that sugar and undo my hard work, then I look to Low Carb Alcohol for the answer. Think spirits with diet mixers and some wines and you’re in the right area.
- Understand Alcohol’s Effect on Weight Loss – Whilst you’re body is processing alcohol its unable to burn fat as it needs to burn off the alcohol first. Understand how long this lasts and what you can do about the effects of alcohol and weight loss.
